About the Client and Project
Agnieszka Leśny and Kuba Wiśniewski are the creators of "An Educational Game on Urban Management Dilemmas," designed for youth aged 13 and older. The main sponsor of this innovative initiative is the Foundation of the Union of Polish Metropolises. The game was developed to support lessons, trips, and developmental programs for students in their final years of primary and secondary schools, with the mission of familiarizing them with the complex dilemmas associated with managing various aspects of urban life. Our task was to create a visual identity for the individual elements of the game, as well as to design the logo for MiastoGra and the packaging.
The Story: Our Approach
In designing the visual identity, the primary inspiration came from the city and its fundamental elements, such as roads, lines, and the geometric shapes of buildings. Given the young target audience, we decided to adopt a distinctive, contemporary illustration style with vibrant colors, while still reflecting the tones associated with urban environments and ecology. To convey the seriousness of political issues, we incorporated an "infographic" style into the illustrations. A key aspect of the project was the game cards, which needed to be designed so that the numbers were legible from a distance, and the color schemes of the card categories clearly distinguished them from the identifiers of the Council Clubs, which justified the diverse color palette.

The MiastoGra game logo is a simple typographic sign which, through the structure of the letters, is an interpretation of the city. The letters built into the rectangle are an interpretation of the building, and the so-called The "upper and lower extensions of the letters" themselves emphasize the shapes of the buildings in the city.
